We Need to Pray Like Never Before...

Last Tuesday, I attended the launch of the 40 day fast & pray in SIBKL. And when the pastor came up to share on what we should pray for Malaysia, it really hit me. Here are some of the things that we should pray for:
  1. Pray for Jehovah Shalom to rule & reign over Malaysia. In other words, Malaysia needs the peace of God. (Judges 6:24)
  2. Pray against idolatry in the churches. That's right, in the churches itself. Not outside of the church. The churches need to come back to God first. (Judges 6:25)
  3. Pray for key leaders to rise up. The leaders should have these characteristics: strength, faith and unafraid of the truth.
  4. Pray for committed warriors to be enlisted. Characteristics: watchful, armed and resilient.
  5. Pray for the trumpet call to be sounded nationwide. The trumpet is to rally and unite God's people as well as to usher in the presence of God. (Zechariah 9:9)
  6. Pray for the torch to be revealed. The torch was initially hidden in a jar, so the jar has to be broken for the glory of God to shine through us. The jar being us, refers to the lifestyle that we lead.
So do pray, like you've never prayed before. The days are evil.

Shop, shop, shop!!!

Today's shopping day!!! I started my shopping journey heading towards Desa Seri Hartamas since I heard that Cat's Whiskers is on sale. And since Chyna Dolls is there too, I thought what the heck...Let's go!! Haha. So off I went to Hartamas. Tee-hee. Ada hasil jugak. I bought a dress from Chyna Dolls and a belt from Cat's Whiskers.
Then, I continued shopping in 1 Utama...Just couldn't resist...Haha, but it was fruitful too...I managed to buy a pair of jeans which I badly needed. Oh, I got a bit frustrated then. When I was trying on jeans in Dorothy Perkins, I realized that I'm 2 sizes bigger than before!!!I think I need to cut the mamak sessions.
After that, I went home to sleep for a while before having dinner with my family. Haha, since I'm in The Curve...I just walked around in the flea market there. And lo and behold, I found a handbag that is big enough for me to carry to class. Buy!! Well, that pretty much sums up my whole day. In total, I spent RM 218.60. Wow, I better save this week. P/S: Kimmy is pretty. Seriously. (Ok, this is just because she's sitting next to me right now! Hahaha...)

Nostalgia...

Officially, I finished my industrial training last Friday. However, due to my rajin-ness I was doing work non-stop for the engineers until I don't have time to finish my report. So there I am back at the office again to finish up my report. I'm almost done by the way. But going back to the office to do my report really makes me a little nostalgic. Being there and at the same time not being there makes me miss the place more. After all, I've been working in that office for a good 3 months. But today, one of the bosses actually belanja-ed me Japanese food in Eastin Hotel. Woow...nice!!Enough of nostalgia.
What I really wanted to blog about is how did BN retaliate against the victory of Pakatan Rakyat. And they do it in little, little ways that you cannot imagine is possible. Read this:
This is from the blog of Hannah Yeoh, DAP Selangor Assemblywoman for Subang Jaya
BN Ruins SMK Subang Utama Prefects' Reunion
Few months ago, I was invited to the Prefects' Reunion of SMK Subang Utama to be held next week. I just received news that I could no longer attend the function because I'm an assemblywoman from Pakatan Rakyat.
Two prefects have confirmed that the teachers have issued a threat to the prefects to withdraw their invitation to me and if not, the event would be cancelled.
I am upset with this. Let me explain to you why this threat by the teachers is so fundamentally wrong:
- This is a private function to be held outside the school
- Every past and present prefect is entitled to attend this event, not to mention
I was the Head Prefect for 1995/1996 and was one of the pioneers to start this yearly reunion for the prefects.
I am not a criminal or a bad role model. All I did was this, exercised my right to vote, and to stand for election, to stand up for my generation and to fight corruption.
As a young person, I am not afraid to stand up for righteous principles or of intimidation by the 'supposedly powerful' groups but today I am told that I am not a welcoming sight at a function which I championed and fought for many years ago.
In school, we were taught to be good role models and to be someone successful someday who will contribute positively back to the society. I have done just that. The very same people who taught me these values are now telling me that I am no longer accepted because I'm an assemblywoman from Pakatan Rakyat.
Blogging about this brings tears to my eyes. Why? This is such a sad state for our schools to be in, for our young generation to endure and succumb to irrational threats like this. For 50 years, we were told not to question, not to challenge and not to speak up – even if it infringes on our fundamental rights.
I am neither insisting to attend nor be a special guest at this function. I am telling you – students, graduates, working adults and parents that if you choose to remain silent and succumb to threats like this, there is little hope left for Malaysia. It could be your daughter/son who's in my place.
Remember the young ones are watching. Some are being brainwashed. Some are now confused – here you have a 29 year old assemblywoman who is speaking up against corruption for the sake of our nation and they are told that this person is not a welcoming figure and that she is not accepted at school or private functions.
I was a little exhausted prior to this because of work, complaints and issues but this has caused my heart to stir. It has sealed my heart for a cause. The cause is this – to continuously speak up against oppression in this nation.
My conscience tells me I am right before God, I have not acted unfairly towards others by stealing taxpayers' money and I am inspiring the young to stand up for what is right.
Our education system is trying to breed students who cannot think for themselves and to issue threats when everything else fails. I am the ex Head Prefect of my school and I am entitled to attend the reunion to meet up with my old fellow schoolmates, to catch up on old times and share some old jokes. I am now denied that right.
How many of you would stand alongside me for this cause?
